Art and Museum blurb
Salvador Dalí
Dali is quintessential Catalonia. He was born in Figueres in 1904 and spent the majority of his life in the region. Experience the Dalí triangle: Dalí Castle in Púbol, Dalí Theatre-Museum in Figueres, and Dalí House Museum in Port Lligat.
You may recognize him from this famous work, La Persistance de la Mémoire. There is so much more to this eccentric individual.

Antonio Gaudi
Gaudí is best known for his art that intersects with architecture in Barcelona. We discuss those recommendations on our Visit Barcelona page.
Picasso
Distance 144 km Drive time 1 hr 48 minutes
The Picasso Museum in Barcelona houses a vast collection of his works, totaling 4251 artworks. The museum opened in 1963, while he was still alive, and was the first museum dedicated to the artist. The museum opened during the Franco regime, and the then mayor of Barcelona defied the wishes of the Franco government to open it. This is because of Picasso’s opposition to the Franco regime, distilled in the painting Guernica.
Picasso has a long history in Catalonia, particularly in Barcelona. His family moved to Barcelona after his sister's death, and Picasso spent his adolescence and early career there.
